Great stuff. Thanks for doing it, torch. I signed on this morning to get started but this is pretty much what I had in mind (albeit probably with a less clever title). I'll add:

Remy Abell - Xavier - Starting and averaging 9.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 24.5 minutes per game. Scored a season-high of 13 points the first time against Long Beach State, but has scored in double figures five times.

Ikenna Okwarabizie - Tyler CC - Big Ike wound up at Tyler Junior College as the NCAA hadn't cleared him fully yet. The 6-10, 250 lb. center has offers from Mississippi State, Iowa, Virginia Tech, and others, and UCLA coach Steve Alford has indicated an offer may be forthcoming. Stats are hard to come by, but Ike is playing well at TJC.

I don't think we ever offered either, but here's a local duo at Missouri State:

Robin Thompson - Averaging 7.6 minutes, 1.6 points

Shawn Roundtree - Averaging 16.5 minutes, 1.9 points, 2 assists

Corey Henderson, Jr. - Wichita State - Averaging 1.7 points in 6.6 minutes. Played 8 minutes against SLU and had 2 assists, a rebound, a turnover, and a missed shot.

Tevin Glass - Wichita State - Has appeared in a few games, hit a few shots. Appears to be the 13th guy at this point.

Joe Thomasson - Wright State - Has started all but one game. Averaging 32.7 minutes, 11.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists. Has a .638/.421/.800 shooting line. Leading the team in assists, rebounds, free throws, and blocks. It's worth noting that he is a junior JUCO transfer, not a freshman.

Ike was one guy I couldn't find any info on. I took my names from the thread at the now defunct billiken report board. I didn't check the one here for any different names.

As I went through this list I was left with one thing. Yeah we missed out on a couple recruits, Martin, Macura, O'Mara but not much else. The recruits we focused on from our pool of offers turned out to be the best players. I'd say that every freshman would be at the very least in the top 15 of performers out of the group of kids we recruited. This tells me this staff can identify and close on the top talent available to us.

Did we ever figure out what actually was up with the McCaw situation? I was under the impression that he wasn't that interested in SLU until Diddy's post suggesting SLU blew it and the kid was actually interested in SLU.

After we did not land Tool Martin in the fall, the staff seemed focused on recruiting a 3 in the spring. Not sure if the timing means anything, but UNLV offers Yarbrough... AFTER Yarbrough signs with SLU, UNLV signs McCaw. Perhaps McCaw was UNLV's Plan B to Yarbrough? My sense is that with Platt's relationship with Yarbrough's dad, MY was a top priority for SLU in the spring. Good job by the staff in landing him as the kid seems to have a lot of ability.

Martin is really the one guy on the list who would have been an excellent addition. He visited SLU and we were in his top 3. Not sure we missed much with most of the others. With some of these other players, it is difficult to really determine if we were serious about making an offer or simply "interested". Conversely, sometimes it is difficult to determine how much interest some of the kids had in SLU. If they don't take a visit, I tend to think not so much. The kid from Texas who signed with Vandy appears to be a pretty nice player, but I don't think he ever visited SLU. One player not on the tool list is Riley Lachance - we had interest at one point, before he also signed with Vandy.

That's a good point. But it's also worth noting that we're talking about freshmen very early in their first season. Most are playing behind someone else, so the numbers don't say a whole lot yet. It's certainly worth revisiting in a year or two, or even just later this season. I'm guessing some of those numbers will change dramatically.

Martin and Abell are the two that hit me the hardest, for the same reason. They're both guys who were down to SLU and one other school, and both chose the other school. We weren't a finalist for most of the guys on the list, either by our backing off or their making lists that didn't include us.

Macura had a ton of offers and my guess is we were in his 5-10 range. Same on O'Mara. Seeing them play is tough, but Abell and Martin sting most to me.
