ACE
Van Vleet is out this weekend and they said his return for the SLU game was his "best case" scenario. Could be a very interesting game.
NextYearBill
if they still have Ron Baker... which they do.... they'll be fine
HoosierPal
No one's grabbed this so I will. It would be a 'Shocker' if he doesn't play.
Billboy1
if they still have Ron Baker... which they do.... they'll be fineAnd if the refs call the game right he'll be whistled for several fouls when he uses his elbow to create space! For-DaLove
Returning Van Vleet will certainly help, however, Wichita State isn't nearly the team they were the last few years. They miss Tekele Cotton and Darius Carter a ton. They're still a fringe top 25 team, but I don't think they'll be able to match up with the Memphis, Indiana, Kansas, etc. type teams as well as they did in recent years. Billikenboy
Who says they will be able to matchup with SLU either?
johnbj14
Cleanthony Early was another big loss for their program who would help tremendously on this year's WSU.
Billikenboy
Cleanthony Early was another big loss for their program who would help tremendously on this year's WSU. Sad how the NBA came calling for him. He should have stayed at WSU for the peanuts!
DeSmetBilliken
Early wasn't on the team last year. His last year of eligibility was the undefeated regular season.

I know he wasn't, just when talking about the past few years of WSU he is one of those key guys who added a different dynamic for them. kshoe
Wichita State showing some chinks in the armor versus a rebuilding Alabama squad. The Shockers really need Van Vleet back. Shows how valuable one player can be to their (or anyone's) team. Hopefully he's not quite healthy enough to play when they visit in a week. Billfan78
Wichita State just lost to a very mediocre Alabama team (they were previously blown out by Dayton and Xavier) and lost their center to what appeared to be a serious neck/spinal cord injury. kshoe
Wichita state lost again to Iowa. They went 0-3 in their tourney and clearly are a different team without van vleet. If he plays, I think we lose. If he sits I like our chances
slufan13
Wichita St could potentially be without Van Vleet and 2 others. If that's the case we should win. If not I think it'll be a really close game.

waldo027
It's still very early but it looks tough for them to get an at large bid. They really needed these non-con games to build a resume. If they get healthy and then basically run the table with a loss in the MVC tourney, they'll get the benefit of the doubt and get in. But Kenpom projects a 19-11 regular season record, throw in another loss in the MVC tourney and that's 12 losses and they're out.
