The boat has sailed on just being competitive - wins are needed for Crews to salvage his job. This game was ours for the taking but we wilted in the last 5 minutes. When I saw it live it looked contested, but you are right that he kind of helped off of Adams leaving him open for the catch and shoot 3. Simply fouling one of the bigs or guards who were all shooting 50% from the line would have given us the chance to score on the last possession. We did not lose this game on that last shot - we lost it because we did not close the deal in the last 5 minutes. They couldn't close out either half. With 3:49 left in the 1st half SLU was up 25-20...at halftime it was Bonnie's 28-27. In the 2nd half with 5:23 left, SLU is up 57-51 and proceeded to be outscored 14-5 the rest of the way.
