  1. Because high school coaches love adding inches to their players.
  2. I'm not sure why everyone is speculating about the 2 minute player causing the cancellation. It says the reason in the courier press article linked on the first page. "Saturday's cancelation with Saint Louis didn't stem from a positive test, but one of the Aces woke up with symptoms on Saturday morning and there wasn't time to do a PCR test, nor was it in UE's best interest to reschedule."
  3. That's the drug they are studying at SLU med/hospital. https://www.slu.edu/news/2020/march/covid19-treatment-trial.php I was going to comment on outlook based on trials, but since I am not the board expert I will refrain since I don't want to be insulted.
  4. I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that Doug McDermott did that one year at Creighton. I think they had a player get an unexpected extra year from the NCAA, which put them over the scholarship limit. So he just used tuition remission/dad paid the rest for that year so everyone could stay. But that's a pretty rare/unusual situation. Edit:. Link to article. I was originally close. Just no tuition remission, had to pay it all https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/gibbs-eligiblity-means-doug-mcdermott-to-walk-on-at-creighton/
  5. Nope, I'm perfectly happy with my choice. I think you just like being the big cheese medical guy on here. You thought you were alone since no one else was posting paragraphs about every medical related thing. You don't like thinking that anyone else has any similar knowledge to you. Now that you know there are others, you are lashing out at them, trying to put them down to make yourself feel better. How's that bit of psychiatry for you?
  6. The world would be a lot better off with enough psychiatrists. Sincerely, Internist
  7. All these people comparing it to the flu response. Influenza attacks people largely over a 4+ month period. The really sick people are spread out over that time. It's more predictable--hospitals basically know what they're getting and when. It doesn't overwhelm medical facilities. H1H1 was a little different. It started earlier, lasted longer, and predominantly hit kids/pregnant woman/ health younger adults. But it was still manageable (except Mexico). People worried, news went on and on, but eventually settled down. This is totally different. It goes from nothing to overwhelming in a few weeks. Whatever the mortality rate is, the consensus is that it is much higher than the flu. The only way to limit the damage in outbreaks like this is social distancing. Just like the 1918 flu epidemic, which is what this should be compared to. Do you think the people who shut everything down in 1918 hated their president? Or maybe, in 1918, they freaked out and shut everything down because they knew a hundred years in the future that Trump would be president and they knew they would hate him?
  8. Apparently that doctor knows nothing about public health/epidemiology. Or is greatly prone to exaggeration. Everyone is going to get a disease with a 3.4% mortality rate within two years? So 11.1 million Americans will die of this in the next 2 years? Damn, that will suck. Yes, we all have been exposed to various coronaviruses before, because many colds are caused by them. But everyone in the world is never hit by the same virus over a two year period. That's never happened.
  9. I would definitely like to know what explicit thing Majerus said.
  10. Ty Graves transferred mid freshman year. Mike Lewis transferred mid junior year. Edit: Ty also would have had 2.5 years.
  11. I know in the past they've had balloons, face painting, and other similar things for kids during the game. Was that just a thing of the past, or do they do anything like that still? If so, where/when? I'm disabled, so it's a big deal for me to go to a game in person. I have tickets for tomorrow's game. If there are things that will keep my son from just sitting there and whining (my husband would take him so I could watch the game ) it would be nice to plan in advance. Thanks.
  12. The OSN link is showing an old game. The feed2all is working. http://www.feed2all.eu/watch/231366/2/watch-saint-louis-vs-rhode-island.html
