His dad informed me that the official visit is getting moved to a future date due to a dead period for recruits to be on campus. Either way they've knew this was a dead period. I mean I'm sure they'll just reschedule for next week like DW said but it just makes no sense. If someone hadn't figured it out before Wednesday we would have risked an NCAA violation on such a high profile recruit. For what its worth, I doubt this was an "official" visit where we are paying for dinner, lodging, etc. You only get one of those and I didn't get the impression this was it. I assumed it was an official visit but have to admit I didn't see that word in the original tweet. For all we know Jayson was going to eat Imo's with the guys and play Xbox. Meaning Duke was in to visit Tatum right after the dead period ended last week. As 3star pointed out, this dead period is April 13th-16th. Let's meet with Tatum Thursday night. Again as 3star said, the next one is May 21st-29th. The final dead period of this academic year is July 6th-31st except these dates: July 8th-12th, July 15th-19th, and July 22nd-26th. Just posting because these dates are released 10 months in advance. How we scheduled a visit during that period is beyond me, but maybe we were risking that violation or maybe we just forgot.
