ARon
Why can't we find white ppl over 6'8" with some degree of athleticism? You mean like...in life?
ARon
Conklin, Loe, Ellis, Evans, Remekun and Glaze were all more accomplished bigs coming into the program than anyone currently on the roster or that will be on the roster next season with the exception of Neufeld. What do you mean by "accomplished"? State titles? Complementary tweets from recruiting 'insiders'? Highlight videos on YouTube?
cheeseman
Why must you focus on a player's race - if he is good who cares.
brianstl
Conklin was a two time first team all state player and broke Danny Ainge's school record for points. Ellis was a member of Australia's u-18 national team. Loe was a member of New Zealand's national team and considered the best player his age in the Oceania region. Evans made all state teams and all Chicago teams. Heck, even Remekun was an all region player in Texas.
3star_recruit
So if Welmer has a better freshman season then Remekun, what would that mean? That the staff did a good job evaluating talent or that they did a good job in developing it?

Crawford practically owned Indiana high school ball. Malik was the top scorer in his region and was first team all-state. Bartley received all-state recognition in Illinois. Gillmann was 4 times all conference. I don't understand your point. High school accolades are meaningless because there is such a dramatic variance in competition and levels. For years, Vashon produced kids with accolade after accolade who couldn't cut it in D1.
Schasz
If you are referring to McDonald All-American nominees that would include John Manning. Wisc's last McDonald's AA was Brian Butch in 2003. Wisconsin had only 1 top 50 recruit and 1 other top 100 recruit in the last 4 years. http://statsheet.com/mcb/teams/wisconsin/recruiting#mcdonalds I actually believe our core 5 or 6 returning players are among the most talented young nucleus I have seen at SLU. We are still 2 years away, but we are going to be really good again if these guys stick it out. Nice to see a voice of reason after reading so many negative posts. I happen to agree with you Nark. jimbofive
Marcus lovett, uncommitted senior point guard at Morgan park in Chicago had 45 vs althoff in Illinois semi final game. Lost though. Jordan goodwin only needed 1 c assist for a triple doublE for althoff and gooch, Ferguson and bateman were also very good for althoff. I say offer all four of them. They are all worthy our roster. Hopefully we already have. lovett is a 4 star so we won't get him. i'd sure like to have him.

brianstl
I think heard Lovett is a lock for St John's. I guess Lovett's recruitment is wide open now.
Old guy
Just wanted to point out that Utah has a white Canadian center (polish name). This guy was a beast in the Utah / Georgetown game which Utah won. There may not be many but there are white centers that can jump and dominate the games they play in. hsmith19
All we need is four of those guys and Andre Miller and then we've got a Final Four team...

Dwayne's_World
We need Jolly to become the next Christian Laettner. Maybe not the skill part, just the pissing people off attitude and being a white, upper class dou.che on the court. Also, maybe the occasional game winning shot.
