C of C will be in the A10 in the next 3 years. You heard it here first.

https://www.instagram.com/p/C41T_6yOxH7/?igsh=MTFzZmdhdjB0OWRxYQ== The basketball team is important to the university. It’s the front porch of the school. Look what 1 win has done for Oakland.

Oh , sho'nuff. That's a pretty good comp. The comp I had in my head was Eric Musselman, but he had a stop as a college assistant.

I'm certainly not trying to defend Hooserpal, but it's the G-Leage championship for me. I don't think coaching the G-Leage is far off from coaching in college. Especially with the NIL changes in college basketball.

Probably not since he’s the better coach.

I just watched the interview, and man, this guy is unlikeable! It's so clear that this guy doesn't get it. He says he takes full responsibility but then rattles off all the ways this situation was out of his control. Throughout the whole interview, he tries to paint himself as a victim. The entire thing, from the BS excuses to the tears, was so gross. Nobody wants to fire poor Travis solely based on this season's results. We want him gone because he has a proven track record of producing mediocre results. Twenty wins and not making the NCAA tournament is not a successful season. Neither is going on a miracle run in the A10 tournament and then getting bounced in the first round (if I remember correctly, the game wasn't even close). Those are stepping-stone seasons. It's been eight years, and we've never made the jump the way teams like Dayton or VCU have. It's time to part ways.

This is hilarious!

Anyone have a way to watch the postgame presser?

2024 SLU Men's Basketball Head Coaching Search

Here’s one. Alex Barlow. He’s drawing up plays to take down 14th ranked Creighton at home. Obviously, when the Butler job opens up he’d be gone but this is the type of coaching candidate I’d be looking for. -

Hey, I'm with you. It's tough being a Billiken fan and history would point to you being exactly right. However, I choose optimism on this snowy Sunday morning. I'm going to cling to that, at least for today. -

I'd argue that there is at least a slightly better than zero percent chance. In the video I posted, Ahearn mentions that any time you get the chance to be a head coach, you take it. He seems like a family man, and St. Louis is home. MO State is 3 hours away from STL. Stranger things have happened. Personally, my hopes are up. -

Agreed. I don't want a retread. I want someone with something to prove. That's the formula for success for programs like SLU. Who cares if they leave us for something bigger down the road? If that happens, the Billikens will have seen major success. However, in the case of Ahearn, St. Louis is home, and leaving might not be that appealing. I'd be willing to roll the dice for a chance at finding our Mark Few.
