Recruit (1/7)

  1. Steve, When you are at the game, look for the group of player's parents & introduce yourself - shouldn't be hard to find as I think the SLU crowd will be small.....
  2. Martin Hutton and Andy Pusateri were just named to the Academic All District Team and are elligible for Academic All American.
  3. Soccer Bills defeated Memphis 2-1 in the 1st overtime tonight. I heard in on internet radio - it sounded like the Bills outplayed Memphis the majority of the night, just had a hard time finishing. 1st Goal was David Peplinski and the OT goal was DiRaimondo Comments from those present? How did they look?
  4. Heard Hutton has been nursing some leg muscle problems since the Furman tournament. I guess it was an opportunity to rest him?
  5. Well actually the issue of this being a clear/obvious goal scoring opportunity has nothing to do with awarding of a penalty kick. If a foul was committed (and if you look at the replay there clearly was a foul - the keeper missed the ball and took down the player) then a PK should be rewarded. The only reason to consider if this was an obvious goal scoring opportunity would be to send off the keeper (if it was - and I agree it was not). It's not like football where, for instance, pass interference is not called if the pass was not catchable - you can foul someone in the box and be punished by a penalty kick even if the ball is on the other end of the field - as long as it is in play. On the handling in the box - I haven't gone back to look at it again, but it appeared to me at the time that the player moved her arm (intentionally or not) and stopped the progress of the ball. Could very easily have been called, but these things are hard to see and judge at the speed they happen (slow-mo replay is great for us spectators).
