TheChosenOne
For those who have seen him play, what do you think about Sneed? I have only seen him play twice, but both times I struggled to see how he was a top 100 player. On paper it is tough to see SLU miss out on these top local kids regardless (Tatum, Cook, and Sneed). Bills_06
There wasn't much info on Sneed or Cook so not extremely surprised being eliminated from his list but disappointed. Shocked Mizzou didn't make it as they just hired Tate and all indications were they were up there as likely to get him. Glad though since maybe they aren't going to get as many of the Eagles as I thought. Would still like to see an offer for Goodwin soon though... What I don't know is whether the respective staffs decided to move on or if they knew Sneed was not interested.
Pistol
I've never seen Sneed at his best. Every time I've seen him, he seems a bit frustrated (in the Chaminade playoff game last season) or just kind of lost (like in the televised Eagles games) on offense. He's definitely athletic and has some potential - I just haven't ssen a complete game from him yet. I haven't seen him stand out like a recruit of his caliber should. That's just my small sample size, though. His list seems to reflect where I see his potential.
Cowboy
-I have seen Sneed probably 5-6 times and agree with Pistol and TheChosenOne that I have not seen him where i thought he was a very highly ranked player, seemed to float a lot on defense, not go get rebounds at key times and force the offense/shots but who knows if that is what the coach wants or what the kid wants
slufan13
So is the consensus that Sneed is the better player right now but Moore has better upside?
Basketbill
My take of the consensus, Sneed is the better athlete but does not seem to put it all together on the court, but Moore is a much better shooter and better offensive skill set. Moore is not a bad athlete just that Sneed is better. To me that equates to a better upside.

It's rare a guy without desire and drive finds it. Lazy is a disease you rarely cure

I just don't think his game is completely developed yet and he was taking a back seat to Tatum in the Eagles games everyone watched.

wgstl
Sneed's athleticism was the only thing that really stood out.
TheChosenOne
I don't think the problem with Sneed is his drive. I just don't think his game is completely developed yet and he was taking a back seat to Tatum in the Eagles games everyone watched. My take is more based on watching him play with Hazelwood Central. I am really interested to see what type of player he develops into at the next level (obviously just going into his senior year) with those measureables, but I am not overly upset to miss on him. He is definitely raw, but I didn't necessarily see the flashes of potential/athleticism I would expect from a top 100 wing player and with his measureables. I had heard he had the attributes to be a defensive stopper (clearly has the length), so I really focused on him defensively and he did not look good defensively in the games I saw. His offensive game was also really raw with him not appearing to be capable of making plays off of the dribble attacking against tough man defense unless in transition and he seemed to rely more on perimeter shots in the half court. I was just not impressed by him, but the length is there for a wing and he looks like a good athlete.
doowop
Some posters on here wanted Biedscheid. Well, Moore is only one inch shorter and can shoot almost as accurately. If the coaches can strengthen the rest of his game, he could be a big asset to the team, imo.
slufan13
Sorry to bring up Tatum again, but here's his updated USAToday blog post http://usatodayhss.com/2015/the-jayson-tatum-blog-excited-to-be-a-blue-devil-recruiting-other-player-drake-and-more-jayson-tatum-harry-giles-iii-dennis-smith "I actually called St. Louis to tell them that I was gonna pick Duke because SLU were my second choice. That was tough for me to do because I really respect the staff and loved the program. Of course they weren’t happy with the news, but they respected my decision." JettFlight5
I wonder when that call took place. Now, onto players that might actually play here.
RUBillsFan
I wonder when that call took place. Now, onto players that might actually play here. Yeah. It's not really worth much discussion, but it is interesting since Crews & Co were at Peach Jam seemingly watching Tatum until the very end. Obviously, they would have been at Peach Jam anyways, so who knows.
slufan13
I figured it was just talk so that he could say SLU was his 2nd choice. But agree - Who cares? Class of 2016 recruiting has seem to have died compared to other classes but as 3star said, the staff can now evaluate what they have, stay in touch with their current targets, and see who they need to prioritize. It's not really worth much discussion, but it is interesting since Crews & Co were at Peach Jam seemingly watching Tatum until the very end. Obviously, they would have been at Peach Jam anyways, so who knows. I think someone mentioned it at zero hour of Tatum's recruitment that it would be quite the insult to the other Eagles if Crews and his staff left when they found out about Tatum. I don't think this program needs to do things to actively piss off local programs. I like the "they respected my decision" line. What, was Crews going to go postal on a kid and completely destroy recruiting of anybody?
