Recruit (1/7)

  1. I like how this has been a constant basing of insults off of hypotheses. Coach Martin said the Bears already are committed to five road games and two neutral-court games and could not visit SLU next season. "We cannot afford another road game," he said, adding that he hoped to resume the series in two years. Kyle Moats (MSU AD) said they wanted a 4 year deal, 2 years ago but SLU wouldn't sign the deal. Also, "We're not scared of them, but we can't play next year. We'll sign an 8-year deal then, if they want. We absolutely want to play them." It ain't that big of a deal, guys.
  2. Fuehrmeyer is a point of contention among the MSU fanbase. He's a hard worker, good ethic, good leadership, lots of energy, but maybe not the most gifted athlete. He makes Trout go limp, but some of us appreciate him for the non-statistical things he does.
  3. So much for being more impressed with SLU fans than other fanbases. Wow.
  4. ...Good one? EDIT: And yes, I am. But I still pay attention to the Billikens and Tigers because they're important to the state of basketball in the, well, state.
  5. And apparently one that opposing coaches are too stupid/lazy to adjust to very well. And for the record, I hate SIU, Jamal Tatum, Chris Lowery, but coincidentally, I also hate these excuses and whining.
  6. At SIU. That unstoppable bastion of worthless MVC-contact-sport basketball trailer park arena, or so I read on here.
  7. Did it occur to anybody that Valley teams would always lose on away games if they played such horrible basketball that was always so full of fouls? As in.. for example, SIU would never do well in exempt tournaments because they'd always foul out. Some teams play physical games. That's just how it is. It should be part of the SLU game plan to counter that physicality, not blame it. Other teams have beat SIU at home before. Other teams have beat MVC teams at home, too.
  8. I'll say that there have been numerous names mentioned as possible coaching candidates for MSU in my parts, but not once have I heard any connections or rumors involving Soderberg.
  9. I think a bigger worry would be that SLU only scored 2 points with its bench. It's going to be hard to do much without any support for the starters.
  10. To answer questions, Chris Cooks played. Lamont Austin did not. David Cline was nowhere to be seen. The Newsleader today said that Cline tried to sell a stolen camera, and Cooks and Austin happened to be there.
  11. Because there's also a backcourt. And we have issues rebounding at times. And we aren't all that great on defense all the time.
  12. Drew Richards is 18/22 FG and plays solely down low. Has some nice post moves this year that he didn't have when you last saw him. He's a big tree trunk. Good banger. Dale Lamberth is shooting about .480 from three and has the sweetest touch shooting that I've ever seen. He generally plays outside, but can somehow get it in the basket in so many ways when playing inside as well. He's definitely not a banger though. Deven Mitchell will do just about everything. Incredibly athletic, big slasher/banger. Have seen him shoot from outside and mid-range jumpers as well. He'll do whatever he needs to do.
  13. That's because there's a 23 page thread about it already, and they're trying to keep it from spilling into every other discussion there. But the status is that they're suspended, and charges still haven't been filed. And don't the away teams usually bring their own refs in non-con games?
  14. Let us all hope for good clock management. And I don't mean by the teams.
