We will how this changes in the next game. And change it will...12 to 13 man rotation....I say ride it till the end. Team will be even stronger next year from the experience gained this season and it will be nice to have experienced freshmen going into their second season.

That's true, Reggie had some nice rebounds. He also had one brutal layup miss and clanked the front end of a one-and-one, too. I'd like to see him get more minutes and show what he's capable of.

Great win by the young Billikens!

Totally agree on the comment about the coaches not making rush judgments. The coaches must see stuff with JM and TL to give them time and starts. When we play our easier opponents, I think they will still see if they can step it up and play.

I like the big rotation as well, for now. However, Ash is the best player on the team overall. Why not play him 30 minutes a game or more. The goal is to win. He is only averaging 22.5 minutes in the first two games. Crawford is averaging more.

  • I said it once and I will say it again. One of the biggest crimes will be Ash not getting to play with FBJT! Ash is THAT good, my friends!
  • How about this stat that will baffle teams when scouting the Billikens. Bench points: ISU – 8, SLU – 46!!!
  • Ash missed at least 4 shots when driving to the basket that he couldn’t get to fall. Those will fall and I love how he can get to the rim.
  • I predict McBroom will be like this all year – very streaky! One game 20+ points and the next game 3-5 points. The good news is that it looks like our other guards can fill that gap.
  • I noticed others noticed the wingspan on MY in this game. There were times I thought he was Mr. Fantastic.
  • We out rebounded the other team in two straight games

In terms of total production (40 mins), here are some great stats:

- Ash is averaging 24 points and 12.4 rebounds

- MY is averaging 18.6 points and 14.3 rebounds

- RA is averaging 12.7 boards

- MR takes care of the ball the best and has the best A/TO ratio

BTW, this is the 99th season of Billiken Basketball! I hope they have some great things planned next year for 100 seasons of Billiken basketball!!!!

Well, the 2014-2015 season is the 100th season, so your signature is not technically correct.

I suppose the beginning of the 2015-2016 season next fall will really be the 100th anniversary, so that claim is not technically correct either.

What was the deal with the hats? Are you talking about the scrimmage against Memphis or the exhibition against Harris-Stowe (which I unfortunately missed)?

Ash was in foul trouble the first game cutting his minutes. Second game he had a rough start and needed to calm down. I agree he is our best all around player and he will lead the team in minutes if he's healthy.

This twelve to thirteen man rotation is having and is going to have an interesting effect. We scored 41 points in the second half last night. If we are going up against at team that only goes seven or eight deep, we should have the advantage in the last ten minutes of being much fresher. That will help offensively and defensively. Probably more so on defense.

When I first heard that everyone would play, I was skeptical. Now, I am seeing that it may actually help us while the younger players figure out how to score, how to defend, and how to take care of the ball.

Also regarding the large rotation, we must be a nightmare to scout against. We can throw a lot of looks at other teams - or the same look with different guys at each spot. Sometimes we even go with one post and four out! Add in the fact that our defense seems to be a lot closer to the level we saw the past three years than anyone expected and this season is really shaping up.

The opposing coach will have to be on his toes looking for matchup problems, for sure.

Willie, I agree. I've been raving about him to other casual fans and they ask me what former Billiken I would compare him to and I really can't think of one. He's bigger than most of the guards in recent memory.
