Recruit

Recruit (1/7)

  1. Julius Marble picked up an offer from Minnesota and Michigan State over the past two weeks. Think this ship has sailed...
  2. Jerry Palm has SLU as an 11 seed playing Indiana in Hartford in his preseason field of 68. Quick glance only saw SJU as the other a10 school in his preseason field of 68.
  3. Hearing Marble may have had his offer pulled or SLU no longer showing much interest. Marble transferred from another DFW area high school after his freshman year and SLU had questions in his transcript. In any event, Oral Roberts is showing interest in him and his teammate Max Abams.
  4. I’ve seen Marble play. He was hurt the last half of the season. He played on a great dallas Jesuit team who lost to Tyreese Maxey (Kentucky signee). Marble needs to add weight but would be a nice player for SLU. He has a very good point guard playing with him this season and dfw is loaded with talent this upcoming year. I’m with pistol in that he will hold out for big 12 offers. Def worth watching, he’s way better than the last dfw billiken Remekun.
  5. From ESPN recruiting: "Strengths: A physically gifted southpaw with a high ceiling, Foreman has high level athleticism and the type of frame that could evolve into a big time body. He's mobile and bouncy around the rim, able to make his presence felt at both ends, and has some ability to face-up" Also had an offer from VCU according to ESPN.
  6. Lots of good looking ladies actually in Lubbock, just not an ideal place to live from my experience anyway. Not an easy place to recruit, as you are getting kids that Texas, OU, TAMU, Baylor and OkSt passed on. You are also in the middle of nowhere out there as well, not many major metro areas to recruit from and not much tradition to speak to. With Dixon now at TCU, TTU will likely be the bottom feeder of the Big12.
  7. Pretty telling the TTU has lost their football coach (Tuberville to Cincy) and basketball coach to the AAC, not exactly a glowing endorsement for Lubbock. Rumors have the Big 12 looking to add either Memphis or Cincy to their conference in the coming years to help get their football a conf championship.
  8. Pierre is a recruiter and the main driver behind Ford landing a ton of talent at Okie State along with the help of some hundred dollar hand shakes by boosters
  9. Two Big 12 openings now, Okla State and TCU. I am sure Underwood will be the top choice for both of those schools, Okla State being the better of the two. I'd be shocked if Miles left and there is no way we are going to pay him that amount. Hopefully we have this all resolved by the second weekend in April...
  10. I have a feeling May will tell Crews that he can either be fired or retire, Crews rides off into the sunset with some sort of parachute financially. Budget for the new head man should be around 800-850k. That budget should be just fine for the candidate that would consider SLU an upgrade over their current position. Only wildcard is if the good Doc C ponies up additional funds to push the budget to 1mil, then that will open more doors obviously. But I will stick with a coach in the 800-850 range.
  11. I would say Larry has one more year after this year at SMU, then he will be done, plus I am sure Larry negotiated some pretty big payouts for his assistants. On a side note, Jankovich has a son who is a sophmore in HS who is pretty talented, 6'3 sharp shooter, averaging about 15 ppg and 3 made three pointers per game.
  12. It was a twitter rumor since Pitino addressed the team around 11:30 and the mood was "somber", people were speculating he was stepping down. Not good when the investigaton is not yet complete and the self impose, probably going to get a lot worse for the university. How the AD is still employed past the summer is beyond me. Pitino and Bobby Petrino being his two biggest coaches, can you get more slimy than those two? But money rules the world and Louisville has a new arena and Jurich can raise money with the best of them.
  13. 12:30 press conference at Louisville. Rumors circulating slick Rick is stepping down.
  14. SLU just offerred 6'9 235 PF (Don Bosco, NJ by way of Canada) Mfiondu Kabengele. Florida State, Georgia, BC, St Bon are also in the mix per VC.
