This is my recollection as well. To be fair, I don't think anyone at SLU ever called it a 2-1, it was just widely speculated as such on here by morons and insiders alike.

The series was a home and home deal. Only a 2 game contract.

Crews enjoyed his trip to SIUE. “You had two teams from around the St. Louis area playing each other and it was a lot of fun,” he said. “I love Lennox Forrester and I’ll do anything for him. So there’s a possibility we could play again.”

This was Crews from the postgame presser.

Hope not-this is like what MU tells SLU-no benefit

Well you can't play everyone home and home so at some point you have to say no to schools when they are significantly different in skill level, even if they are local. When MU says no to SLU they are ignoring that there is not much difference between the two programs.

I challenge anyone to find a regional school that is in the ballpark of our success that we won't play home and home with. Missouri St. is the only one that could be argued and the reason we aren't playing them is because they shitted on us with scheduling a few years ago and we are pissed about it. The fact we are still playing SIUC home and home despite their struggles speaks volumes to our willingness to play local schools if they are at all competitive.

No comparison really.

SLU would certainly be open to a series with SIUE but probably not until their RPI is regularly below 300. Its a buy game for us, and an easy sell out for them. When we play SIUE on the road there really is little benefit for SLU.

We did play them though. We have consistently traveled to our area rivals home venues. SPUMAC would never do that.

Oh you had me all excited until I found out it's in French Lick which is a much better side trip for an away Louisville game. Oh, for it to be 2005 again....

He has a restaurant in Terre Haute. Its about a mile north of the highway at the main TH exit. I've been there a couple of times, but not recently.

Details on the tourney:

If we are going to be anywhere near as good as doc b thinks, this is a must win tourney.

Surely doesn't look like a tough field.

TCU is awful but they bring in McBroom's old teammate and former top recruit Trey Ziegler. They may be slightly improved.

Bradley returns two starters from a team that didn't make the MVC tourney.

Miss St who we play first is returning pretty much all their starters and most of their scoring. They look to be by far the most experienced team in this field.

Not sure if BillsFan is referring to me, but it is actually Go_Bills who posts the streaming links. He is a true message board hero.

My bad, its Go_Bills. What I hear he will back with the links for next season. Great for us out-of-town fans.

TCU, Mississippi St, and Bradley won a COMBINED 4 games in February and March last year.

Our non conference schedule isn't anything special. Our performance there won't tell us if we're going to be good, but it will show us if we're going to be bad. (outside of winning at Wichita St or something like that)

Totally agree. We may even end the season with an inflated record because of this non schedule but it won't help us get into a post season tourney because the rpi will suffer.

I will forgive you this time! For anyone wondering, I am typically only around during the season but I wanted to confirm that I will continue my media threads for the upcoming season!

Is this the year the ACC v A10 compensatory series starts? If so, maybe we'll get an ACC game.

The A-10 v ACC doubleheader starts in 2015.

Announced in May:

“The ACC Tournament will be played at Barclays Center in 2017 and ’18. The A-10 will continue to hold its championship at Barclays Center in 2015 and 2016 and then return to the venue for three years in 2019, 2020 and 2021. The ACC and the A-10 will play inter-conference doubleheaders at Barclays Center in 2015, 2016 and 2017. In addition, the A-10 has secured a spot for its teams to participate in the annual BROOKLYN HOOPS™ events at Barclays Center.”
