  1. Not sure if anyone else noticed this, but they have Hargrove's height listed as 6'4''.
  2. Came across this earlier. Hopefully this puts an end to the kangaroo courts we have seen at SLU. https://www.thecollegefix.com/trumps-new-executive-orders-ban-guidance-practice-that-enabled-obamas-title-ix-kangaroo-courts/
  3. Latest prediction I saw has us as a 12 seed. I dont see us as a 14. 12 or 13 most likely.
  4. Latest bleacher report big dance prediction has SLU as a 14 seed. #revengetour
  5. I'm pretty happy with the offense and ball movement. The defence is struggling, but hard when STJ is literally hitting almost everything they throw up. Several shots appeared to be shot on a prayer.
  6. This board is really hard to read sometimes. Ford deserves a chance to build a team. S2, Santos, Gordon, countless injuries this year etc. I dont understand how so many people can demand lofty results when there have been so many challenges. Many people are forgetting thor was hospitalized back in November or December. He had surgery and was very limited in practice for at least a month later. Not to mention he lost over 10lbs from when he was sick. All of this made it nearly impossible to grant him playing time, especially when he was limited from contact in practice.
  7. The odd thing about this game, our offense was actually pretty good. If you look at all the numbers, we actually had a good game. We limited our turnovers, did great rebounding, had decent shooting percentages. Our defense was where we fell short. French has a tough job of being the 5 (or Foreman). Golden caused a lot of damage, and being pretty athletic for 6-10, its hard to blame our 6-7, 6-8 guys for not doing more. When we play a team with an athletic true center, we will struggle. Especially given the fact French is aware of him being crucial and always in danger of fouling out. I would expect him to play with a little hesitation at times. French has looked better passing out of the double team lately. On offense, the movement away from the ball is sometimes great; we will have multiple guys running the baseline, running through the paint, etc. However the very next play, we will just have four guys standing around the perimeter with little to no attempt at penetration. I wonder how much of this is based on the taxing effort being done on the defensive end. I dont believe any of us here thought Ford was near the Majerus level of game manager, but again we can not fault Ford for last season with losing so many guys. We can not make a fair judgement of him with the losses of Santos and Gordon this year, compiled with the injuries to Hankton, Jacobs, and Welmer. If we had a guy to play the 5 (santos or gordon) we very likely could be 8-0 in conference play. We as Billikens have been struck with awful luck once again is losing players who could be key in turning this team from average to great.
  8. I think we need to move past the FT from JG. Before the davidson game JG was shooting 53.7% from the line. Last night before the missed FT he was at 88.9%. He still finished 8/11 (72.7%) for the night. These numbers bumped his season average up to 56.4% on the season. Last season he finished at 69%. I dont get how people can expect a player averaging 54% from the line to go and finish 9/11 or even 10/11 on the night. If he shot his average FT% for the whole night, those two last FT would not have mattered because we would have been down by 3 instead of down by 1. It sucks he missed both, but its hard to expect a bad FT shooter to suddenly turn a 54% rate all season long into a 90% for this game. JG had a good game, as always he was a stat filler. Where would we have been in this game if not for his effort. We should put this game behind us and move on.
  9. I didnt see this posted before, but I stumbled across this last night and thought it was interesting. Ignvi wasnt only behind due to arriving at SLU late, but was really set back by illness and surgery. Losing all that weight surely took a toll on his conditioning. I just think it points to a lot more going on than the kid wanting to leave because he wasnt getting any playing time. The time difference between this article and when he announced he was returning to Iceland was only 3 weeks. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.stltoday.com/sports/college/slu/slu-freshman-from-iceland-is-forced-to-chill/article_a5022e29-ef94-5290-a12b-15ae10c3821b.amp.html
  10. Since Ford has came to SLU he has done a lot of things really well. While I question his offense plan with the current talent, its hard to judge him really. Last year he ran a pretty good offense with what he had (in spite of losing Bishop, Graves, and Henriquez). We all complained about lack of depth and having to rely on Hines, and yet the offense was much better. This year, who knows what could have been with Gordon, Santos, and Welmer going forward. This isnt even taking into count all the injuries that have been going on. Ford deserves credit and a chance, but the fan''s frustration with offense efficiency is warranted. I'm remaining optimistic that the team is still working things out. It shouldnt take this long, but the silly turnovers and miss communication with passing lanes "should" improve. I still think SLU will come away with 22 wins this season. While that may not be what some expected from this team, that certainly is better than what we have seen for quite some time. I love this team"s "will to win". This team is determined and while things are not going as planed, they are fighting for every win and appear to give max effort constantly. Just remember what TI said a few days ago. Hard to say that Ford isn't in someway partially responsible for this. Also its great to see that following TI tweet, one of our great recruits for next year immediately retweeted saying this was exactly why he picked SLU. Losses suck, especially when we had the chance to win in our hands 2x at the end. S**t happens, move on and focus on next game. #TEAMBLUE
  11. While it was a stupid foul JG made, its hard to fault guys for being amped up and playing as aggressive without errors being made. It happens. The big issue here, as many have pointed out; our offense is beyond bad. We spend way to much time doing handoffs, which makes me hold my breath each time because it seems so awkward how this team executes it. With as athletic as this team is, no way should we have the offense we see. The sad part is, we see this offense with almost every team we play. I mean we struggled with offense against North Alabama, Central Arkansas, Troy, La Salle, etc. That should not happen. From an individual player standpoint the only player that really struggles (IMO) is foreman. No clue what has changed with him this year. I give TI a lot of credit and I think being frustrated with him may be short-sided. I feel like he is trying to push the offense too much. We need a drastic change in offensive schemes.
  12. Not sure where to post this, or if this question has already been raised; but is there any news on EW? In December there was an article stating he had an appointment for tests on January 14th. That same article talked about how he was hoping to come back at some point during conference play.

  14. Well I got an email today from SLU asking for donations. I replied back to alumni relations stating I would no longer make any donations, participate in any alumni events etc due to the gross injustice conducted by SLU Title IX group, and condoned by SLU's president. If SLU wishes for donations from alum like myself then remove the two problems plaguing my school. My donations probably don't mean much...but if enough alum speak up about wanting change maybe something will happen. Not that anyone here is forgetting about the 3 young men whose lives have been drastically altered; but now is the time to try and exert as much pressure for change as we can. Bottom line that we all can agree upon is that fred needs to go as well as weathers. That is just a start, SLU needs a whole new change in direction with board of trustees; but I will settle for Fred and weathers. Just my opinion.
