  1. Very true. Two years is a long time down the road for any program. My original question was basically asking if Lowery "won" the first recruiting battle for those guys since he got them close to Carbondale. Lots of things can change in a couple years.
  2. Yeah, you keep telling yourself that. I'm sure other D1 schools wanted him to go to Logan where he can hang out with his friends from STL in Carbondale(Booker, Roundtree) all the time and where Lowery will be able to attend a majority of his games.
  3. http://www.chicagohoops.com/articles1/casslogan.html Nate, does this give SIU the inside track on getting Perry in a couple years?
  4. I didnt mean to compare it to SLU's situation because I haven't been following it that closely. I just meant the original post on the thread sounding a little misleading that Lowery was "cleaning house". My apologies if that wasn't the intent.
  5. Not quite accurate but close. Jordan Armstrong is transferring to a DII where he will actually get some playing time. Brandon Wood didn't see eye to eye and it was a MUTUAL seperation. Christian Cornelius has an athritic knee due to an ACL tear and is contemplating whether he can play bball any more. If he can't play, he will still receive an academic scholarship since it is a physical ailment. Those are the only 3 that are leaving....not quite the circumstances to be considered "cleaning house".
  6. I don't believe so. In football, there is a limit of walkons that can use the training table and other things, thus the term "preferred walk on", but I dont think that would apply for bball unless you had about 5 or 6 walkons.
  7. That is just the deep feeling amongst "people in the know". Yes, I know that sounds corny. Hey I hope I'm wrong, but it's been said that Cassity was a little ticked at SIU for waiting so long on him. He was going to take a visit to SIU, out of respect to his family, friends, hometown, but SLU has been on him longer and was on him stronger up until a couple weeks ago when SIU increased their interest. One thing I'm sure Lowery is telling KC is that we didn't officially(nor do we now) have any schollies, but several are opening up at SIU after the season is over.
  8. There are conflicting reports, but the source I have more success with says he will choose SLU. I do know that he is still on campus at SIU.....supposed to be going to practice and then out to eat with Lowery and some players. I have only seen Cassity a couple times, but I best describe him as a solid 6'3/6'4 shooting guard. Not a freak athletically, not a sniper from the outside, but he will be solid in all phases of the game...he won't wow anyone, but he will get the job done. Maybe compares to a Gansey from West Virginia a couple years ago?
  9. Word is that Cassity will be declaring for SLU in the not to distant future. Congrats.
  10. Cassity went down to SIU right after his SLU visit. The word I have gotten down in Carbondale is that it's too close to call, but I think it will be between SLU and SIU.
  11. WOW! Very nice looking digs! I'm extremely jealous!
  12. I think a lot of coaches were questioning his PG skills, but he can defiantely run the point. Solid player.
  13. Someone posted on the SIU board that Erving Walker, the Florida recruit, was way too much for North's point guard to handle....I can't think of his name right now.
  14. I must have missed or forgotten about that play. Care to elaborate and provide some visual evidence?
