Interesting highlight tape. I try not to take too much away from highlight tapes and this one is especially tough for me, he doesn't look overly athletic and his shot looks a little strange (although maybe all shots from lefties look strange to me which is probably the case watching the highlight again), but he definitely put up numbers in high school (and AAU) and has length. It will be interesting to see how he is used (i.e. is he skilled/quick enough to play on the perimeter or strong/athletic enough to play in the paint).

*I see most recruiting sites describe him as athletic, so maybe that highlight tape doesn't do him justice. He is also described as a nice shooter, so in fact any lefty must look a little strange to me. He can also shoot free throws at a high %! Also looks like he will definitely be a perimeter player.

A consensus 3*, looks like a wing with great length. Looks like a good find, although a bit similar to Roby/Bartley/Moore.

And so many lefties!

Agbeko, Neufeld, Foreman, Johnson. If Lancona stuck around we'd have had enough to put five on the floor at once.

Weren't Lisch, Liddell, Meyer, and Polk all lefties?

He does kind of push his shot. I can't quite place what looks odd about it, either, but he's a good percentage shooter. It'll be interesting to see if that carries over against bigger, stronger, faster defenders.

He's purely a left-hander in the videos. Doesn't even use his right when he needs to.

He appears to have a bit of a hitch and definitely more of a push shot (looks rather slow too), but everything I found describes him as a shooter, so I will take those who have seen him play over what I saw in a minute clip. Sounds like Cowboy, you, and I all saw the same thing for whatever that is worth. Position wise he seems like a good fit. Be interesting to see if both him and Zeke Moore are still with the program a year from now.

Looks like a nice sign to me. Glad to have him. 1 month on the job and Ford has a 6'8" 240 lb big who averaged 6 boards a game as a soph and a top 150 frosh to be. Gotta say his recruiting rep appears to be true

The only two videos I could find were published in the fall of 2014. They weren't overly impressive, but I gotta think the kid has improved a lot in a year and a half. Also, sometimes hard to tell watching these sloppy AAU games. The release in his shot looked a bit low, but maybe that has improved since the time the videos were posted.

Actually, Dwayne Polk is right-handed but learned to shoot with his left hand. That was fine for high school, but it didn't work in college. He was right-hand dominant for everything except shooting jumpshots and free throws. (Layups were right-handed.)

John Seyfert, Brian Smith, and Quitman Dillard (if I'm not mistaken) are some of the other lefties SLU has had over the years.

Very interesting re: Polk. The other three you mentioned were all before my time, but it seems that we could put a halfway decent team together with all of these lefties.

Just an article I stumbled upon while looking the kid up. Interesting points he talks about. Figured Travis Ford was definitely using the " I run an NBA style offense" as a recruiting tactic. Also interesting to see he expects to play soon.
