  1. Just saw that Pitino will remain at New Mexico.
  2. Will Wade would require guts and a vision. I see us playing it much safer/yawn.
  3. I am terrified of who we will end up with if its not Schertz.
  4. I can't fathom Louisville hiring Schertz. I'm not saying he couldn't succeed there. I think he could and would. Louisville needs to be able to sell the hire, though. Just a few minutes ago on ESPN Seth Greenberg blurted out that Louisville should hire Chris Collins. That's a Big 10 coach playing in the round of 32 which is a far cry from a Missouri Valley coach playing in the second round of the NIT
  5. Frank also has it on good authority that Popovich, Billy Donovan and Bill Self reached out to Chaifetz urging the powers that be at SLU to interview Ahern
  6. Frank saying he has it on good authority that if it is Schertz that his star players will follow him here. Also saying that Schertz is very impressed with the O'Laughlin Center
  7. I wholeheartedly agree with this take. If a coach is here for three years and then gets plucked by a P6 school, he will have raised the profile of the program in general and the prestige of the position of head coach at SLU. I dont need a Coach to claim SLU is his destination job. It’s a disingenuous statement to begin with, and sounds a bit too “comfortable” for my liking.
  8. 14 tickets spoken for in my group (5 different people) At this point I believe four will be renewed regardless and the remainder, including mine, depends on the HC situation
  9. Still haven't renewed my group of 12. Don't feel any sense of urgency to do so though I am sure I will at some point. I would set the over/under at games I attend at 6
  10. The most uninspiring schedule that I can remember. ZERO non-con home games to get excited about.
  11. Could not agree more. My group accounts for 14 seats. During the second half of last season, less than half were being used. It got to the point where I even stopped asking people if they wanted free tickets as I didn't want to put them in the position of telling me no. This is a far cry from the "hottest sport ticket in town" vibe we were hoping to create when the arena was being built.
  12. Its the difference between an institution that is committed to winning and one that would "like" to win but isn't willing to pull out all the stops to make that happen.
  13. That is fair, but then they had opportunity after opportunity for quality wins in the SEC, and they knew that would be the case when they were scheduling those games. We do not have that luxury.
  14. I'd have a hard time selling it right now as I don't believe our head coach is the guy to turn this thing around. The better question is what would you tell him as a person who believes Ford IS the guy? I would like to tout recent success, direction of the program, league opponents, being the only basketball show in a metro area of nearly 3 million, etc. Right now the best you can do are facilities (although if you are recruiting against a P5/P6 program for a kid this won't move the needle significantly) and minutes. The best thing Ford going has for him right now is available minutes, which is of course, no small matter.
  15. Right but his point was still valid. The game didn't sell out organically. For a lot of these games there were BOGO offers or deep discounts, etc
