  1. nice little excuse to head over to Sauget ay zac...
  2. The game at Busch has been cancelled because SIUE dropped out. We are now 19-5 and 3-0 in conference. Snuck into the baseballnews rankings at #30 http://www.baseballnews.com/polls/divI/currentpolldivI.htm We'll be back in town April 5th, 6th, and 7th to face St. Joseph's. Bring some beverages and enjoy some free baseball and hopefully good weather.
  3. Just a reminder that we'll be selling tickets again tonight. Go Bills!
  4. Perfect I'm right in front of 108 entrance. The other group is by 117
  5. Great! You can come up to one of the tables during a beer or snack run. Or since I'm actually one of the players selling them today, I could come to you before the game or at halftime. I'm not sure exactly where the tables will be set up yet but I'll post it here. We'll be wearing our black jerseys and I'll be wearing #21. What would you prefer?
  6. We'll be selling tickets again tonight. Baseball season is just about here. Go Bills!
  7. I don't want to be opinionated about my teammates so I'm only going to state facts. We have most of the pitching staff back that was 4th in the league last year. This includes junior Alex Alemann who was a Freshman All-American two years ago, Sophomore Damian Rivera who had a strong Freshman year last year and also won Pitcher of the Year for the Texas Collegiate League this summer, and our closer from last year 5th year senior Travis Parker. We have a good mix of experience and youth. On the hitting side we added a couple transfers and some freshmen to fill some holes. Junior Jordan Hammerman is back after being an All-Star in the same summer league as Damian. Seniors Connor Gandossy and Marco Diroma will add experience. Junior Steve Fernandez is back after hitting .293 last year. There are many more players that I didn't mention that will be big contributors. We're picked 6th in the league but we're hoping to do much better than that.
  8. As a non revenue athlete I agree with the fact that it looks bad that a lot of the athletes left after halftime (i stayed the whole game)and I don't really like it either but you have to understand that this is a tough school... we have 3-4 hours of class a day, up to 3 hours of practice time, sometimes more than an hour of lifting, plus other time consuming things such as showers, eating, etc. It's really hard to set aside the full two and a half hours midweek when you have homework, studying, etc.
  9. Thanks for the bump Zac I don't believe so but that could change. FWIW, much to the dismay of the hitters, as of last year NCAA baseball use new BBCOR bats that are suppose to hit like wood. We are taking advantage of the great unexpected St. Louis weather right now. The first three weekends of the season are trips down south to Nashville, Florida, and Arizona(including games against ASU and Oregon State).
  10. Hello everyone. I just registered as a Billikens.com member but this forum's antics have entertained me for the past few years. I am also a player on the baseball team and would like to make a plug for our game at Busch Stadium this season. To be able to play at this amazing venue, the team is required to sell a certain amount of tickets and we are trying to sell them in advance. The game is against SIUE on May 3rd immediately following the Cardinals vs Pirates game at 12:45. A ticket is $30 and includes the Cardinal's game and the Billiken's game. We would love to have some rowdy Billikens.com members in attendance. Look for members of the team selling tickets at the rest of the basketball home games including today while we take on Dayton. You can also purchase them by emailing Coach Brad Flanders at [email protected] or by asking someone on the team. We do realize that it is a fairly long way away but the earlier we sell the tickets, the better. I will bump this when it gets closer. We'd really appreciate the support of your hometown baseball teams! If you have any questions I can answer them on here, you can ask a member of the team at the basketball games, or you can email Coach Flanders. Thank you very much.
