  1. Good game SLU! It was a rather sloppy game for both teams. And the officiating seemed to be a little "off" for both teams at times. Your team was more athletic than I originally thought. You will definitely have a great team in the near future! Good luck against ND and the rest of your games!
  2. This is our most athletic and deepest team since probably 1999-2000 when we won the Big 12 and went to the Elite 8.
  3. I would imagine there are a decent number of ISU fans there. A lot of ISU alumni live in the Chicago area and there are some big expectations this season. It's only about a 4 hour drive from central Iowa and I know of a lot of people who are spending the weekend in Chicago for this tournament. Both of our teams are undefeated so there's no reason why our fanbases shouldn't be confident. I'm not sure what kind of pace your team plays at, but we like to push the tempo and get fast break points. We usually apply full court pressure and try to force a lot of turnovers. With our athleticism and depth, we can afford to run at a faster pace and sub a lot without a drop off in talent. I'm really hoping Dendy plays this weekend, as we could use his quickness and length. Overall, I'd expect the first half to be close, but we pull away in the second half due to a deeper bench and athleticism.
  4. I agree, I think it will be a very interesting game. It will also tell a lot about both of our teams, as it will be the best teams to date that each other have faced.
  5. Well, I'd hate to brag... But, ISU is currently 3rd in the nation in 3-pt FG percentage at about 53%, 4th in the nation in FG percentage at about 54%, and 6th in the nation at 3 pointers made, averaging 9.2/game and a total of 46. It really helps to have both an inside threat with our bigs and our perimeter shooting ability. If you can't guard both, then the one you can't guard will be the one to kill you. That being said, I think you guys keep it close for the first half and we begin to pull away the second with our deeper bench.
  6. Wow, all freshman off the bench? Well, at least you know that you'll be pretty dang good and deep in a couple of years.
  7. Sounds like you are a fairly young team, but have a good back court. Did I read that right when you said the backcourt were freshman players?
  8. Hey guys, Iowa State fan here. Booyah, had a pretty good analysis of the team a few posts above mine. This is by far the most athletic and quick team we have had in a loooooong time, probably since the 2000 Big 12 championship team. We like to push the ball up court, force turnovers, and fast break points. We have a ton of depth, more so than any of the last 4 years. If Dendy plays, he is coming off an injury and missed the last couple of games, then he will be a huge asset. He is very high energy, athletic, and quick. With Brackins, Dendy, and Gilstrap on the floor at the same time, its really fun to watch. What can you tell me about your team???? My score final prediction, I think the first half is close and ISU starts to pull away in the second with their depth and athleticism. ISU wins 72-59. This will be our toughest game so far this season.
