Billikan
Their stud recruit won't be eligible until after the non-denominational, end of the calendar year break. We need all the help we can get. http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/billiken-...me-against-slu/ I thought that Tim had confused this player with the star at Memphis who I watched last night but his name is Tyreke Evans and this fellow is named Tyree Evans-- interesting to have two big time players with names so close! billiken_roy
i admit that i have never seen kent state play but from what i have read in numerous sites is the player that will be our handful is al fisher. a score first guard that has nba aspirations i would think a healthy lisch would have guarded him, but now maybe they give mitchell his chance to take him on? kent has two other guards back from last year that started so our backcourt will have their hands full. i would assume liddell will get to guard singletary who sounds like he is built like an nfl running back. Bishop
comment about Kent State from the 24 hour ESPN college hoops chat today... David (Kent, OH): Kyle, how much do you like Kent State this year? Is Maryland transfer Tyree Evans going to be the scoring threat that we need to help take pressure off of Fisher? Kyle Whelliston: (3:30 PM ET ) Scoring points won't be a problem for the Flashes. I want to see how they replace Haminn Quaintance, who was my favorite player in that league last year. A human intangible. If they can outmuscle teams like Miami and do all the little things, no reason to think the 20-win streak won't continue. 3star_recruit
KSU isn't a one-man team by any stretch of the imagination so it's not enough just to contain Fisher. Last year they had four people averaging double figures with no one averaging over 15 ppg and this year appears to be more of the same. They've got so much talent stockpiled that Rashad Woods, a former top 100 recruit, came off the bench for them last season as a junior. This could be the year they bumrush the national stage, a la Butler.
