I see he is not rated by ESPN, Rivals or Scout but shows up on Verbal Commits as a 2 star. He had a pretty good looking list of schools to visit in St. Mary's, Colorado, and SLU (Clemson was cancelled by Neufeld I assume). What other schools showed interest in him? Anyone see him play? Is he a good get if we get him committed to SLU?

2 stars is the default on verbal commits.

On YouTube he does not look impressive. We don't need another player like him imo.

He was a low major recruit before he blew up in the summer. For a late bloomer he was getting some high major and Pac 12 looks. We were lucky we saw him early. With Grandy and Manning gone after this season, more big men is exactly what we need.

There have been recruits in and out of campus in the past week or so, I've seen them in the golf carts with staff. There will not be any "saving" of schollies anymore, unless it's for the springtime. Sorry no new names; but there are still very big, athletic-looking guys visiting, believe me.

so much weeping and gnashing of teeth, by adult men, over the whims of teenagers!! Kind of sad, really ....

To further what torch said, Ben reported that in late July neufield had offers from Washington and Clemson for 2014. Not sure exactly what led to him choosing to go to prep school and turn into a 2015 but when he did the Washington interest dried up. Still had visits scheduled for st Mary's, Clemson and Colorado which aren't scrub schools.

He'd be a good get and a fit for our system.

Is the Holy Grail of Golf Carts still around?

Seems weird, and unlikely, but Neufeld's AAU coach posted on Facebook today that Duke has "interest" in Neufeld.

Per @DRIVEBasketball FB account, @Duke_MBB showing interest in 6'10" C Matt Neufeld @m_neufeld #BCHoop

Coach K always trying to ride the Billikens wave. Remember they tried to jump in on Agbeko.

Also saw a report from a few months ago indicating that Gonzaga was recruiting him heavily at one point. Maybe he is not highly rated on some recruiting sites since he has played HS in Canada and is a bit of an unknown, but he has a solid list of interest/offers. I'm surprised Carleton is not in the mix. ;) He is now going to a place called Sunrise Christian in Kansas. They have players from all over the world. Never heard of this place, unlike some of the more high profile prep school on the East Coast like South Kent.
