The duo did not exactly transfer. They announced that they will play 2018-19 at Houston (with no formal structure binding either party really) and they will be playing JUCO ball this year in Florida (I think). Houston is probably legitimately interested in giving them a chance but they have no scholarships to give and did not want the horrible optics of ditching two players this late. The two (along with Flowers) do serve as a reminder that sometimes recruiting the most stars does not work out--UMass's highly touted 2016 recruiting class blew up in the wrong sort of way.
