The other assistant is UMKC's Chris Hollander. Not exactly a big name either but he's from the St. Louis area.

Also, Mizzou started the purging of the roster as Frankie Hughes and KJ Walton are leaving.

You have to wonder how much money was left in the staff budget after not only giving that salary to Porter, but paying for the perks he gets too.

Hollender is a Jim Crews disciple.  Played for him at Evansville and was on his staff at Army.

He sounds great.

This could've been an auto-correct issue, but he's from Mattoon, IL

Thad Matta is out effective immediately. The coaching carousel just finished a week or two ago when Presbyterian hired a coach. Now there's a chance they might start it right back up if they pluck Mack or Cronin or Holtmann.

WOW. Why now?

UPDATE:  AD Smith indicated it was due to bad recruiting.  The usual suspects mentioned as possible replacements, adding Donovan and Marshal to the list above.

I would assume they have someone already ready to go this late in the game...

I feel for what ever school gets saddled with looking for a new coach in June however Matta is available.

I really hope that the possible coaches mentioned for replacements do the right thing and tell OSU no it is too late and OSU has to live an assistant coach for the upcoming season.
