There is a short ceiling to improving speed, quickness, hand-eye coordination (shooting), and explosiveness. The defensive ceiling is very high for every college player. Very few high schools play stellar defense. You typically see passive zones. Most high school players single biggest weakness moving on to college is that they have to learn how to play tough man to man defense. I would never target or avoid any recruit due to his defensive prowess or deficiency. It will always need to be coached up in college. hsmith19 Posted May 14, 2016 Share Posted May 14, 2016 And sorry, but when I hear individual, athletic 2s 3s and 4s with weak coaching I think of Quin Snyder Agreed, but at least his kids seem to have less of a habit of choking girlfriends and drunkenly crashing ATVs.
