The Wiz
Nice win over GM The Bills in the meantime remain at D+. Ford comes to town as a C+. I would say that Ford at the Fetz = GM on the road. In addition, Ford will probably be missing one of their better players....Thomas...He has missed the last 3 games (ankle) and is questionable for Sat. These 2 factors indicate that this is definitely a winnable game. But in order to win they will need to play as they did last night...low TO's...good 3pt shooting ...no dead zones. With Ford missing Thomas the game plan simplifies....Stop Rhoomes. He is their guy. Here is what we need to do to win........ Ford Slash...........................39/29 Rhoomes ......Pts..........................11 ......Reb..........................7 ( no double figures) ......FG%.....................under 50% (usually shoots 65%) ......Blks...........................1....Don't try to shoot over him The Bills Slash...........................43/ 33/ 72 Players w/ 10pts.............3 Pts..................................70 TOs.................................12 DZ....................................0 Bottomline...Game is winnable . Need to play like we did last night against GM. It will be a close game. There is no Rhoom (es) for error. If we stop him and have no holes in the stats..we win

billikenbill
If their hotshot frosh from last year doesn't transfer, this is a blowout. As it is, we can take down the might... er something less than mighty Rams. Bills have an outside shot at four more wins this year. I'd like to see it happen. Problem there though is it probably insures that we Crews into next season with the coaching staff intact.

Billiken Law
Young proven low major coach (not even their first choice) starting to make Fordham look respectable. We don't need a big name or a retread to turn things around.
DuckFayton
Fordham will never be ranked 8th in the country. We don't need a big name to turn things around, we need a big name to get beyond the mediocrity we are not even at now.

We don't need a big name to turn things around, we need a big name to get beyond the mediocrity we are not even at now. Fordham doesn't have Chaifetz. Fordham doesn't have a legitimate recruiting budget. Besides, a "big name" isn't coming to a non Power 5 school with the direction the NCAA is going. We need to get a guy who will grow into a big name. Even if the guy uses it as a stepping stone to a Power 5 job it will mean SLU is back in the top 25. A retread who views SLU as a final destination, well, that what we have now.

Billiken Law
Horrible post! Truth hurts, eh? It's the new reality for us non Power 5 schools. Miller at Dayton, the Bonaventure coach, VCU, all perfect examples.

While there were a number of highlights and key plays the Wizard Hat for this game goes to Crawford. ...21pts...slashline...100/100/86...Reb 6 ...stls 4....asst 1...it doesn't get much better than that. An oddity in the stats...a litle over a year ago the Bills just finished playing Ford and had a record of 10-16...Ford had a record of 13-12...After tonight's game, both teams have the same record as last year...10-16 & 13-12. The difference is that last year the Bills came off a crushing loss to the Rams..83-65....Bills shot very well last year...45/47/ 75 but lost on FTs as Ford had an extra 18 FTM...the spread of the game. This year the Bills shot very well again but the difference again was an extra 8 FTM (this time by the Bills)...and again the exact spread of tonight's game. Well enough with the oddities....let's look at the numbers.... Ford..............................Forecast......................Actual....... Slash................................39/29.........................43/22.......fail / double pass Rhoomes .......pts...............................11..............................17...double fail ......reb.................................7...............................10...double fail .....FG%..........................under 50.........................72...double fail .....blks................................1...................................1...pass The Bills Slash................................43 /33/ 72...................52/ 39/ 71.4%........Double pass/ double pass/ pass (close enough) Players w/10pts.....................3................................2.......................Pass (close enough...AY w/ 9pts) Pts.........................................70..............................76........................Pass TOs.......................................12...............................18......................Double fail DZ...........................................0................................0........................Pass Bottomline....As you can see by the numbers even though we failed to stop Rhoomes (no shame there ....he is a great player) we still won with a great offensive show. That, too, is also in spite of 18 TO's. Had we had a normal amount of TO's we would have blown them out. A number of those TOs came on errant passes made by being overly aggressive. That 18 has to come down if the Bills want to keep winning. Overall, a good game and something to build on.
