For those who are stat-heads, two freshmen have made appearances on the Freshman Class Season list.

Yarbrough has tied Darryl Anderson for 10th on total rebounds. At his current pace he should end up 7th or 8th.

Yarbrough is currently 10th on rebound average, knocking Cody Ellis off the top 10...at least for now.

Malik is currently tied with Cody Ellis for 10th on the scoring average list, but averages will change game to game.

Miles Reynolds is currently 4th on the FT % freshman list.

Malik is currently 11th on Freshman FG%. A few 6 for 10's and he climbs up the list. A few 2 of 10's and he goes down.

If Crawford makes 7 more FT this year, he will appear on the Sophomore FT % season top 10 list. His current .811 would put him 5th.

McBroom is sitting at 5th for the All Class Record for % 3's. [sLU doesn't track 3% for individual classes.] But if he goes 0 for 6, he falls off the list. McBroom is currently tied with Lisch for 7th on the Career 3 % list.

He's not there yet, but Yarbrough is around 25 points shy of making it into the top 10 for freshman points. Given his average and the fact that we're looking at probably 6-7 more games this season, he's probably looking at finishing in the 6-8 range. 6 games at his average puts him at 8th, ahead of Mike McCall, Kevin Lisch, and Tommie Liddell III. 7 games at or just over his average, and he could go past Kwamain Mitchell (7th) and Roland Gray (6th). Mitchell and Gray are 2 points apart. He'd have to finish pretty strong (at least 15 ppg) to get in the 3-5 range (Willie Becton at 3rd, Scott Highmark at 4th, and Anthony Bonner at 5th).

As something of a side note, who on earth was Willie Becton??? Apparently was a freshman in 1980-81 and was all over the freshman scoring and rebounding lists, but nowhere to be found in the sophomore records.

Becton was from Memphis and left SLU after his freshman year for Memphis State.

Becton was an Ekker recruit. He played 2 seasons for SLU. His sophomore year was about the same as his freshman year but the team was even worse. He went back to Memphis, becoming part of the first all memphis starting 5 in the history of Memphis St and was a key performer in the Tigers 84-85 final four team.

Is there a minimum required attempts for this stat?

For those who have looked at the Class Records, Evans is #10 on the Freshman FT % list at 60.6% (60 of 99). McCall was at 82%, but lacked the 75 attempts (56 of 68). Jett also lacked the 75 attempts, hitting 44 of 72 for 61.1%. So Evans makes the list on a definition.

Only 8 are listed, now Reynolds has entered the list at #4, and Evans is #10 and has been on the list since his FR year.

Yes, and (I'll say it) what's stupid is that Freshman FT record qualifier is 75 FT attempts. The Sophomore, Junior, and Senior and Single Season qualifier is 50 FT made, .Why Attempts or FR and Made for everyone else? McCall gets screwed because of this.

yes i noticed this tardoness. I'm guessing it's arbitrary and may be because of space. in this day and age we should have access to the list all the way down to walkons.

I found an error in my list, Anthony Bonner hit 84 of 127 FT in his freshman year, 1986-1987. His 66.1% puts him 7th on the Freshman current list, bumping Baniak to 8th, Liddell to 9th and Evans to 10th. But when you add Reynolds at the end of the year, likely all three go down one slot.

After St. Bonnie, Yarbrough is 10th in Frosh scoring, passing Liddell, and 9th in rebounding passing Willie Reed.

Even after two bricks, Reynolds is 4th Frosh FT%.

If Bartley sinks 2 more three pointers, he will be tied for 10th on the FR 3's made list with a pretty good shooter. Care to guess?

Crawford dropped 4 slots on the SO FT% list with his 1-4 performance, but still is the top 10 at 8th.

Updates (freshman class records only):

-Yarbrough's 10.3 PPG leave him just outside the top 10 (Ellis is #10 at 10.5 PPG in 2009-2010).

-Yarbrough is #10 in total points but should hit #8 tonight.

-Yarbrough just passed Willie Reed for total rebounds; he's #9, with 150.

-Yarbrough's rebounding average is 4.8 right now; the #10 spot is 4.9. A lot of rebounds tonight could do it.

-Bartley needs one more 3-pointer to tie Claggett at 34 for the 10th spot on the total 3-point field goal chart. Drejaj is #9 with 37.

-Reynolds is up to #4 on the FT percentage list. Roby is at .624 and the 10th spot is .629, so he needs a good night or two at the stripe to reach the list.

-Roby needs 3 steals to crack the top 10.

-Jolly (12), Yarbrough (11), and Gillmann (11) are all shy of the 15 blocks they'd need to crack the top 10.

I would not have guessed that Drejaj hit more threes than Claggett in their respective freshman years.

The record books sure do have some hidden gems like that.

Drejaj was consistent - 37 his freshman year, then 37, 28, and 40. Claggett had a slightly different arc in that statistic.
