Correct. Still no 2019 commits. We'll have at least 3 scholarships to give.

As for Rothstein's tweet, it's always nice to hear scouts, writers, etc. giving under-the-radar guys attention. From everything I've heard, Santos has been a boss in strength and conditioning. He's always had a gigantic frame, but now he's in the shape to play more minutes and be more effective. That's big for us.

That said, I still want to actually see him play. And I'll add the caveat that Jon Rothstein is a truly weird person.

AD played in the TBS League, which is a lower level (maybe 3rd level down?) in the Santa Domingo pro system. Let's hope he works his way up to the top Dominican league soon.  Also note that AD is eligible for the NBA draft.  See if he gets any tryouts.

He would have been a great fit next year when we have some shooters.  But I don't think Austin's 21% from 3 and 54% from the line is the answer this year.  Isabell put even better scoring numbers against a similar schedule last year.

I was more interested in his assist totals and his assist to turnover ratio.  They would be the best on the team by far.  He has a better turnover rate than Goodwin or Isabell.  

If you are going to be a bad shooting team,  you need someone to find you in the best possible position to score and you can't be giving away possessions.

Agree with that. But to have two poor throw shooters starting in the backcourt would have made me suicidal.

I agree his assist and turnover numbers at Central Michigan look good and I'd love to have someone on SLU's roster with those numbers, but you can't just look at those in a vacuum.  Central Michigan is ranked 102 in offensive efficiency on KenPom.  SLU is 272.  CMU has 4 guys shooting over 35% from 3.  I have to imagine that Austin's assist and turnover numbers would suffer in a worse offense overall with worse shooters around him.  Given his 3pt and FT shooting woes, I don't think he would be a good fit.  Isabell was/is a better fit.

Agreed and how often do you find a guard who has taken 21 3 pt attempts in 4 years.
