Lisch, vastly underrated

the coach can call all the plays in the world but the players have to make those happen. i agree it isnt all tommie's fault but he isnt above blame as well.

and if he is the great creator you are saying, then with 7 seconds to go, he should be able to make something happen. in many cases he indeed did. but not at the rate a good point guard should have.

TL had nine turnovers against Missouri State. TL also led the team in turnoves. Roy has limited knowledge about many things realated to basketball but he is on the mark regarding TL playing the point. TL does not have the handles or the decision making skills for a PG. Doesn't mean he is not a great player but PG have to careful with the ball and make good decisions.

He played pg as a freshman when SLU went on the run in conference play. His moving to pg allowed Luke to slide in at the 4. He proved he can run this team and lead it to victories. He played pg in high school, he played it at prep school. He played it the 2nd half of his freshman year at SLU. You think no one ever suggested he play the wing. He plays pg because its his best position. He always has the score/pass option and it makes sure he doesnt disappear for lack of touches because he's touching it everytime. You cant say "Why didnt they go to Liddell, if Liddell is bringing the ball up the court.

>errrr... ummm if the offense is stagnant and predictable

>(which it was).. the blame does NOT go on liddell, that is

>directly on soderberg. and you have to understand, in

>organized basketball the coach creates the game plans and

>calls most of the plays. so, tommie was doing what he was

>told. its not his fault that soderberg drew up plays for

>him to get the ball in his hands with 5-7 seconds left in

>the shot clock every possession. in fact, i think that is

>what lead to most of tommie's turnovers. someone hit the

>nail on the head earlier by saying: "tommie needs to work on

>his focus more than his handles"..

pretty much sums up what I was saying.
