Pressbox on Bills yesterday (5/10)

Blue. Excellent comment on HD and OI. Someone on this Board previously posted - several months ago - that HD simple was not college material (academically). Seems like Brad knew or should have known this as well. Also, Brad knew or should have known that OI would not have a future at SLU the first day of practice last Fall.

My point: Brad should not have been so stingy with scholorships this past Fall. Giving out only 2 last Fall while wanting to reserve 1 for 2008 was not smart.

Blue - crediting AT is fine but to then say that since AT was kept then Brad must have been making inroads is a stretch. First, AT was kept because SLU needed somebody to keep the boat afloat during the head coaching search. Second, AT had established good ties from what has been said by many but that still did not result in actual signings - the key here is all AT could do was get the kid to visit then it was up to Brad and we all know how that worked out all too many times. Finally, RM needs somebody who can at least make the initial local intros for him and Moser and serve as a link to the existing players on the team for the short term - AT does this. AT being held over is more a situation of his doing and specific needs of the program right now rather than anything Brad had accomplished. By the way, much had been posted and talked about on radio shows about how Brad was loosing out on the 2008 class and was loosing recruits in the Spring group.
