No, he had the tip-in on a Josh Fisher airball to tie it and put it into OT, where we won. We were down 9 with less than a minute (on senior night, no less), and came back to tie it on this play. Quite a few fans left early, which isn't surprising, but hopefully it taught them a lesson. But probably not, since a lot of them still leave early.

EDIT: I almost forgot to say congratulations to Phil. HSSU couldn't have promoted a nicer guy to that position, and I wish him the best of luck. With Justin on his staff, that gives the Hornets a young, enthusiastic staff with well-established local roots. I hope SLU keeps playing them in the preseason and that they build a top-flight NAIA program.

Correct. Phillip Hunt played for SLU for four years as a walk-on.

Well, actually Coach Soderberg awarded him an unused scholarship for his senior season.

Thanks. I thought he might have picked up a scholarship with one of those Brad kept saving.

Did not know Kelly Thames was taking over at Pattonville. They haven't had a good team since Grawer was there. Thames will make the Suburban North even stronger. Hope my Stars can keep up.

Is there any chance that Harris- Stowe and Lindenwood could play each other?

That would be a pretty good handshake prior to the game.

They haven''t played each other the last 3 seasons but there is no reason they couldn't. They both regularly play teams in each others conferences.

I didn't snoop too much, for obvious reasons, but I saw a mortgage app the other day for a Phillip Hunt. Didn't check the location, either, but I wouldn't be surprised if homeboy's moving up to a deluxe apartment in the sky. Tryin' to get himself a piece of the pie, and all that.

Coach Hunt has Harris-Stowe off to a 7-4 start, winning 4 straight games last week and 6 of their last 7. Congratulations to coach Hunt in his 1st year as head coach. Harris-Stowe only won a total of 8 games all of last year.

Hunt now has the Hornets sittting at 13-10 with 7 regular season games remaining. The 13 wins match the highest win total for the program since 1992, and leaves them just 3 wins shy of the first winning season since 1992. The Hornets are led by University of Kentucky transfer Jarvis Walker, and 6'7 freshman Kevin Kramer. Walker is the younger brother of former Kentucky and NBA star Antoine Walker. Kramer is a graduate of Hillsboro HS, and was a 2009 Riverwar All-Star. Hunt is doing an excellent job in his 1st year as the head coach.

Phil is a great coach and an even better person. We used to call him "Smiles" because he always had a big grin on his face! Great kid. Best of luck, Phil!
"Congrats on not being banned yet under this new name. You've got to feel pretty good about that accomplishment."

p.s. I can't wait for you to enlighten the board with some more of your racist commentary

And oh yeah, Hunt has that Mosley guy on his staff too. Maybe he did know a little about college basketball, seeing as he helped turn the program completely around in his 1st year on Hunt's staff. Maybe he did know a little about recruiting, since the team only returned 4 scholarship players from an 8-22 team and he was trusted to bring in his own guys, which includes 4 of the team's top 5 scorers. Maybe, just maybe. We hated to lose him from STL HOOPS INSIDER, but he had to follow his dream, and we couldnt be more proud of him. The Hornets will host Blackburn College tonight at 7pm.

Aren't four of those players from outside of the area? Outside of the Mosley guy's area of expertise? It, also, seems that they are going against the way V wanted SLU to build its team. Only 50% of their roster is from St Louis.
No excuses this year.

The difference is "that Mosley guy" wanted to recruit NAIA level players to D1 schools. Imagine that, NAIA caliber players succeeding at the NAIA level.

Weird.
