Saint Louis track and field is sending four standouts to the 2012 NCAA Division I Track and Field West Preliminary Round, scheduled for May 24-26 at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas.

The Saint Louis University department of athletics held its annual Senior Student-Athlete Banquet at Lorenzini's in Chaifetz Arena Wednesday night in advance of this week's graduation ceremonies.

A total of 38 Billiken student-athletes will attain their degrees this week on the Saint Louis University campus.

The Atlantic 10 Conference Council of Presidents has formally accepted Virginia Commonwealth University for membership, the league announced Tuesday.

The Saint Louis University softball program is offering a summer day camp Wednesday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Billiken Sports Center, located next to Chaifetz Arena on the SLU campus.

The Billikens will wrap up their 2012 home schedule as well as the A-10 regular season by hosting Eastern Illinion on Tuesday and traveling to Charlotte, N.C. over the weekend. Eastern Illinois was the squad that snapped the Billikens' historic 13 game win streak. Charlotte was named the preseason favorite to win the A-10.

Saint Louis University will host the 30th annual Atlantic 10 Conference Softball Championship Wednesday through Saturday, May 9-12, at the Billiken Sports Center. The Billiken Sports Center is located just north of Chaifetz Arena on the SLU campus.

Senior Brittney Cloudy ended her Atlantic 10 Conference career in style Sunday, winning the triple jump at the A-10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships for her eighth career conference title.

Hannah Huebbe and Kelcie Matesa combined to pitch a 5-hitter, and Liz Jones and Alyson Brand had an RBI apiece as Saint Louis edged George Washington 2-1 Saturday in game two of an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader at the Billiken Sports Center.

Saint Louis senior Brittney Cloudy captured the long jump title, while sophomore Naya Owusu won the high jump Saturday on the first day of the Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Massachusetts.
